This oddly named band (a French/Swiss duo) play a very raw and minimalistic brand of black metal, but they somehow found a way to incorporate some short melodic—though sick—passages here and there. The lyrics are in French, but you wouldn't know it from a cursory listen as they're largely indecipherable, the vocals being a very primitive screech that I found to be an excellent match for the equally primitive music. Don't take "primitive" as a bad thing; this is black metal, after all. At times they get cleaner, like on "On achève bien les idoles" which is more melodic and borrows a bit from the French black metal sound circa 2000, but it's still pretty raw stuff and the vocalist never lets go of those very effective, sick vocals. Overall, some very cool raw, sick black metal with a good sound for the style, and a band to watch for if you're into this stuff. |
