Italy is still not a center for Death Metal bands, so I am always curious when one pops up. Degenerated also buck trends by not sounding like a Euro Death Metal band, but taking way more from the US school with intensive drumming and a dash of technicality. They really sound a lot like some Florida-style bands like Malevolent Creation to me, though they are more progressive in their songwriting, so these tunes are heavy and energetic, but have a lot of stop-and-go arrangements that choke off their momentum. This kind of thing really needs that momentum to work, and stopping it makes these songs more irritating than involving.
