This is a very new band who are most notable for being where former Bolt Thrower skinsman Andy Whale is currently pounding his drum kit. I have to admit that his presence was a big part of why I even checked this out, because his playing always pushes whatever he is doing to another level. This is pretty standard Euro-style Death Metal, with Entombed all over the riffs and guttural vocals that sound like they have been pushed through a ton of effects. It's not bad, but there's not anything here that really stands out. Whale's drumming is first-rate, but it's not mixed well enough to really hear what he is adding to it as well as I would like, plus his drum work alone cannot make these songs rise much above the crowd. |
