This is the debut from a UK band who are mining that epic metal vein, following in the footsteps of bands like Wotan, Doomsword, and maybe most of all Brocas Helm. This has the epic, rolling riff-style of Wotan or Battleroar paired with a kind of messy aesthetic and a vocalist more notable for enthusiasm than any kind of range or technique. This is a crunching, headbanging good time even if most of the songs sound a lot alike and don't really stand out from each other. The riffs are better than the songs, and the vocal melodies are universally just kind of dull, yet this has an energy that keeps it fun anyway. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
