I really liked 2019's When All the Heroes are Dead, so I was looking forward to this new album. I can't say it's of the same calibre, but it's still solid power metal. The previous album had a lot of attention-catching songs/moments, and there's less of that on this one, sometimes feeling like they're playing it safe and by the numbers, though that's not as bad as I make it sound by saying that. The music is accessible while still packing a lot of metallic punch, some of the vocal lines have that earworm quality, and overall it's very upbeat and positive-sounding music for when you need a pick-me-up, though there are one or two songs that are a little darker, though not much. Pretty much all the elements you'd expect from 2000-era upbeat, over-the-top power metal can be found here, so if that's your kind of stuff, you can't go wrong with this album.
