I see this band compared to Mercyful Fate, and that's definitely something they were aiming for—you can hear it in the vocals of frontman Federico Fano for sure—but I have to stress that this band is going for the old MF, the "Nuns Have No Fun" MF, long before they got polished and pro-sounding. "Rough" is maybe the best descriptor for this, but rough in that way that sounds retro. This looks and sounds like an EP that could have been made in 1985, with the unpolished recording and echoing vocal sound that evokes that whole era. The riffs are solid, and the whole thing has energy and attitude to spare. A band to watch. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
