Yeah baby, that's what I'm talking about! Ottawa's Infrared strike again with some hard-hitting, incisive thrash metal. If you've heard them before, Manifestation is pretty much in the same vein as their material from the past few years. Fast, catchy, thrash with vocal melodies that you can't help but sing along to, no matter how bad you are at singing (my poor neighbours...) Infrared's music is kind of upbeat yet dark at the same time, an interesting and addictive combination. This is one of those bands that you recognize whenever one of their songs comes on, thanks in large part to Armin Kamal's distinctive vocals, but that's also true for their music, filled with catchy melodies, swirling guitar solos and face-smashing drumming. There's a hell of a lot of thrash coming out these days and a lot of it is just rehashing the old stuff (this is not a complaint, mind you), but Infrared are one of those few with a very distinctive style that stands out from the crowd. Highly recommended. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
