This is a compilation of Desultory's three demos, so lots of good old-school thrashy death metal. The sound is very good for demo material, sounding even better than some albums. But it's still raw and crude, and that's what makes this compilation's charm. No gimmicks, just straightforward early death metal, sometimes way more on the thrash side of the fence, sometimes actually quite melodic yet aggressive enough. Despite this being from three demos, the songs all work well together and overall this doesn't come off disjointed. More raw riffage than you can shake a stick at, with growls to match. Doesn't matter if you're into this band already or not, this is a nice little slab of tasty death metal. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
