Korrosive are less a retro Thrash band and more one who are going for that classic vibe without being slavishly devoted to the sounds of the '80s. Let's face it, a lot of vintage Thrash was poorly recorded and often stuck in a 4/4 songwriting rut, but back in the day it was all so fresh and new that it didn't matter too much. So bands like this are trying more for a feel than an explicit sound. I think this hits pretty close to what they were aiming at. I think the guitar sound needs to be a little sharper, but then I am only rarely happy with guitar tones on this kind of thing. This is more about aggression and energy than distinct riffs, and while it will get your head flailing it won't really engage the air guitar very much. Even if I don't love this as much as I would like to, I have a good time with it. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
