Sentient Horror are a pretty new band who have been kicking up some dust since they released their debut in 2016. This is their fourth album, so they have been busy, and this is a surprisingly polished, focused, and well-made Death Metal album that is classic without being slavishly retro. The overall vibe is definitely going for that '90s USDM sound: Malevolent Creation, Suffocation, Monstrosity, all thrown into the mix with that basis of Clandestine-era Entombed that no '90s Death Metal band can do without. This is enjoyably, relentlessly heavy, with pummeling, crunching riffs and not one single second that is not here to kick your ass. No intro track, no clean vocals, no melodic interludes, this is just pure crushing from one end to the other. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
