I don't remember Anialator's 2018 EP Rise to Supremacy much, if at all, but according to my review I wasn't crazy about it without actually disliking it. 2024 is here and so is their full-length debut, Death is Calling, and it's a nice slab of hard-hitting, aggressive, in-your-face thrash metal. Not that many remnants of old-school thrash to be found here, Anialator stick with a more modern style while steering clear of the more polished form that some of their contemporaries in the genre go for. Harsh vocals accompany this crunchy aural onslaught and crank the darkness and aggressiveness up a few notches while injecting a nice little dose of evil. It's almost nonstop speed and raw aggression with wall-shaking heaviness to boot. Got enough of the old-school revival but still want your ass kicked to kingdom come? Give this one a try.
