Another fine little slab of death metal from Canada's Insurrection. I'll say what I say about most albums these days: there isn't really anything here you haven't heard before, and that's probably for the best as some bands just try too much. With that said, Obsolescence is quite varied, first by having songs sung in English and French, but above all their death metal goes anywhere from crunchy death/thrash to melodic death metal to Swedish-style old-school death metal, and hell, some of the USDM school as well while they're at it. So, they're kind of all over the place but the album is cohesive, and this little musical rollercoaster stays on the tracks the whole time. The melodic passages are especially catchy, and so are the growls (mostly decipherable) with the vocal lines and some of the lyrics sticking around once it's all over. Well done.
