France is likely better known for black metal than death metal, but they do have their share of good death metal bands, and Skelethal are one of them. Within Corrosive Continuums (sounds a little existential) is chock-full of fast and often melodic death metal. It's not the heaviest or most brutal stuff you'll hear in the genre, but it's got guts where it needs them. I said earlier that the title sounds existential, and there's that kind of vibe throughout. It's not one of those pedal-to-the-metal, relentless albums though there's some of that in here. The music destroys when it needs to, but there are several more inward-looking passages that make you stop and pay attention, with a dark, creepy, intricate and even trippy atmosphere. It's diverse in that way and that's part of what makes Within Corrosive Continuums an interesting listen. See below for more reviews and interviews... ↓ |
