Oh yeah, that's the stuff. Brutal, savage crusty black/thrash from a band that deserves its name. This is fast and raw and sounds basic as fuck, with vocals that are often barely audible which makes them sound evil more angry and evil, really cool and dark result. ;) There's an old-school punk vibe as well—I can't really put my finger on it as I'm not versed into punk much, but there's that little something from late '70s/early '80s heavy metal and thrash that took some influences from punk—that's when they lift the foot off the pedal a bit and play things a little slower and you get something closer to Mötorhead and Venom on steroids (without actually sounds like them; gotta manage expectations here). Forget about gimmicks, this is straightforward and raw to the bone, just pure aural savagery that'll scrape the paint off the walls. Nothing pretty here, so this is not for those who like shiny production as this is the exact opposite, and it kills. |
