Sprawling, epic doom is what Chile's Capilla Ardiente serve up on their third album, Where Gods Live and Men Die. The band has a good ear for ominous atmospheres and despite the length of the four tracks (none less than nine minutes), none are boring or drag thanks to the dynamic songwriting and performances. With roots back to Candlemass and sitting alongside countrymen Procession, Capilla Ardiente deftly balance modern production with the cobwebby, occult vibe of classic doom on Where Gods Live and Men Die.
