Yes, this is old-school death metal, so no surprises here. Living Gate is a recently formed band made of experienced musicians and on their debut album, Suffer as One, they play it old school and h-e-a-v-y. The music is mostly slow and crushing from beginning to end with some faster songs to keep the blood pumping, but those are just as crushing. I'm reminded of the likes of Incantation and Immolation, just dark and evil sounding stuff that gets you in a bad place makes you love it. Yep, it's been done before (I think I can say that of most albums coming across my desk these days), but it's well executed and will make you feel like you were run over by an army of asphalt rollers.
