This is a band playing a different kind of Blackened Doom Metal, not the depressive sound of stuff like Xasthur or Forgotten Tomb, but rather a more melancholy style that recalls The Woods of Ypres in the layered, mournful melodies and the epic song structures, or The Fall of Every Season with the smooth transitions between acoustic passages and the crushing heaviness. This is not a full-length album, really, but rather a compilation of the two EPs the band has put out into a single package. If you like Epic Doom, then this is a release you should check out. |
