Some old-school crushing death metal from this recent Finnish band (formed in 2023). There's a U.S. East Coast death metal vibe going on, often at its most primitive, with some no-holds-barred muddy death metal spitting out of the speakers, while at other times it's a little closer to more technical death/thrash (even a little Voïvod-ish), albeit without the wankery, meaning you're left with the best stuff. The gnarly, raucous vocals are mostly decipherable if you pay enough attention (and crank up the volume). Like a lot of old-school death, this sometimes veers more into thrash territory, especially in the guitars. Overall this is slow, crushing death metal that punches you in the face and makes you ask for more. A nice debut mini-album that hints at good things in the future. |
