Second album for this Australian one-man black metal band, Whereunto the Twilight Leads is more melodic than At the Gates of the Eternal Storm was. It's still mostly raw, borderline minimalistic black metal, but there are several more melodic, melancholic passages that were mostly absent in the debut. That doesn't make the music any more polished than it was, and this is black metal for the initiated unless you stick to the few minutes of acoustic music. ;) The aggressiveness is overshadowed by the melancholic atmosphere and overall, just like the debut, it's another good soundtrack for a grey, miserable day.
