Grimy, punk-tinged black/thrash metal is what Colombia's Atomic Spell are dealing on their Nuclear Speed Ritual EP that I stumbled across on Bandcamp. The production is lo-fi, and the vocals are really saturated with echo, giving the EP a muddy but charmingly old-school sound as Atomic Spell run through their original material that has the dirty fingers of Motörhead, Venom and even a little Hellhammer infused into the rocking black metal delivery. No mold breaking here and the execution is rudimentary, but if you live and breathe black/thrash, Atomic Spell is a band to watch. |
