This is some pretty cool brutal death metal that sounds a little different from the crowd. Very dark, kind of slow to mid-paced, like it's stealthily advancing toward its prey (that would be your ears), and with guttural vocals like I hadn't heard in a while, complete with the occasional "talking while burping." I had a roommate in university who did that; I don't recommend it. Brutal death metal if often largely pedal to the metal and just destroying everything in its path, which is cool, but Relics of Humanity worked in some dark and disturbing atmosphere that takes the subgenre to another level, not unlike a kind of horror and suspense soundtrack. Slow and punishing, Absolute Dismal Domain will just make you beg for more. |
