Now that's the stuff. These black-thrashing maniacs from Finland immediately reminded me of the likes of Midnight and Wraith, just to name a few. Fast, neckbreaking metal is on the menu, complete will razor-sharp blazing guitars and out-of-this-world vocals that sound even more pissed off than the music. Lots of speed with the occasional slow, haunting passages, not too diverse but enough not to grow stale on you—not that it would have time at just over 27 minutes. Scumripper's black/thrash is all pretty straightforward stuff and doesn't colour outside the lines, but this is how it's done right. |
