Chaos of War is the second album of low-fi, down and dirty speed metal from Florida's Black Denim Rage. The band name fits their sound, which is the pedal to the metal aural assault of sawing guitars, manic drumming and echo-soaked shouts pioneered by the likes of Venom, Kreator and Abattoir. "Street Metal Violence," "Troops of Hate" and "Hero's Journey" highlight the unrelenting speed and savagery of Black Denim Rage's take on metal, and I can barely imagine the carnage left in the pit after one of their shows. If you like your speed metal to hit hard and fast, Chaos of War is a record you need to hear.
