I liked Century's debut and, from the first chords of "Sacrifice," I knew I was going to feel the same way about their second album, Sign of the Storm. All the band's high-energy, rambunctious playing is here with even more speed and oozing even more '80s metallic goodness. They've captured everything that was good about the NWOBHM and associated US and European scenes in their songwriting, which features fantastic riffs and cool, occult lyrical topics delivered with an authentic, echo-soaked production. It is all so catchy, I want to listen to cuts like "Sacrifice," "Necromancer," "Sorceress" and my favorite, "Sign of the Storm," over and over again. If I had Sign of the Storm on cassette, I'd have worn it out a long time ago. Fans of Blitzkrieg, Brainfever, Dragonslayer and Warlord should find a lot to like from Century.
