Phantoms is the second album of '80s-style thrash from Poland's Pandemic. There is a good deal of melody in the music as they bash, crash and smash their way through their songs with youthful energy and fire. The songwriting is good, not truly spectacular, but there are no duds on Phantoms, just cut after cut of pure thrash, the kind that is driven by maniacal drumming and smoking solos. Very early Metallica and Exodus are in the mix along with early Annihilator, Vio-lence and a bit of the Euro scene to boot. Nothing new, but that won't soothe the sore neck you're going to have after a few spins of Phantoms. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
