Fifth album for Lady Beast after a five-year break since The Vulture's Amulet in 2020. A lot of bands fell into the gap after 2020, so I am glad to see this one still kicking. I have always enjoyed Lady Beast, but not loved them, and this one is not any different. This is a slab of well-played and well-recorded Trad Metal topped off with vocalist Deborah Levine's powerful contralto. There's nothing bad about this, it's just not written as well as I would like. The riffs are solid, and really, the whole of this is what I would call "solid" in every way. It just never really catches fire, and not much will stick with you afterward.
