French black/death metallers Hexekration Rites just released a new song from their upcoming record and it kicked my ass, so naturally I went looking for some entrée to devour before the release of the full album and grabbed their EP Desekration Manifesto from 2019. This one contains 24 minutes of darkness and bestiality for your pleasure, sire. Their approach to the black/death amalgam won my approval. Their sound is pretty raw, the amount of tremolos and blast beats is spot-on and the slower parts nicely balance things out. Can you smell it? It's the sulphur. In addition to the hellish atmosphere, this gives us a record worthy of your time. Can't wait till the full-length drops next month.
