Seventh album for this Finnish horde, INRI is a mix of raw and more refined black metal that makes for a nice variety throughout the album. You get anything from raw, in-your-face black metal to catchy, more thrashy songs with melodies that will get stuck in your head on the first listen. There's a bit of a folkloric vibe here and there as well, with some cleaner vocals mixed with the otherwise loud and violent vocals that sound like a blend between gnarls and bark, definitely something that doesn't go unnoticed in every song. INRI is a little chaotic and all over the place and it took me a few listens to really start appreciating it, but it was worth it in the end. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
