Profanatica sure went all out with this album, a nicely blasphemous piece of first-wave black metal, sounding like pure evil with a mix of deep throaty and raspy vocals that grate the ears and mess with your brain. I couldn't help but think of early Mayhem when it comes to the dark, evil-oozing atmosphere that can be heard and felt throughout the album. It has that raw, unadulterated sound that takes you way back to late '80s/early '90s black metal when things were getting more extreme but not second wave yet. Nothing pretty here—not that anyone would expect that from Profanatica—just pure raw, savage black metal made to scare the masses. Crank it up.
