This is an Austrian band harking back to the early '80s period where the line between what was metal and what was just hard rock was a lot blurrier. You should be thinking about bands like Riot, Krokus, Stormwitch, or maybe especially the first few Priest albums. This has a lot of energetic, direct riffage and shout-along choruses to keep the audience engaged. Some of these songs are pretty drab, but then you get some crackers like "Children of the Beast" or "Radar" that shine with catchy hooks to match the band's enthusiasm. The production is a bit weak, and the guitars need to be cranked up, but this is still a fun disc. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
