The idea was to try something weird and slightly different. So, I grabbed the latest Ripped Open release, which is probably the shortest compilation I have ever listened to. These fine gentlemen offer plain and simple brutal death metal and what we have here are just three singles put together. It is, by the way, almost half of their discography. Fine by me, I have nothing against tiny catalogues. Ripped Open doesn't offer anything surprising. They don't revolutionize this genre and that is exactly what I was looking for. A few minutes of heavy, brutal shit. And the best part is that you can play it a couple of times before you finish your six-pack.
