Named after what may be Deicide's most maligned album (I gave it another try not long ago after nearly 25 years, and still don't like it), Insineratehymn threw me back to when I started listening to death and black metal roughly 25 years ago. Incidentally, Insineratehymn was one of the first death metal albums I bought back then. Fast, brutal, old-school-meets-modern death metal is what these guys offer us here. Lots of heaviness, with deep, crushing growls that share the centre stage with the instruments, the music here is pure unadulterated death metal in the best tradition, just pure ownage (I rarely use that "word"), a feast of crazy, swirling solos and an evil sound that pins the listener to the ground. Nicely done. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
