Some Swedish death metal here that doesn't sound all that Swedish. Undecayed play a mix of old-school Swedish death metal with a massive dose of American death metal that reminds me of the likes of Immolation and Suffocation, the latter especially when they get more technical. It's not bad, but it's also kind of unremarkable with nothing really standing out and it feels like they're going through the motions, checking off a checklist as they go—not necessarily a bad thing, mind you. I might make it sound worse than it is. It's not an album I'd think of first when I want to listen to this kind of death metal, but it's certainly listenable. |
