This is an interesting release in that it's basically a demo of Impaled's second album, 2002's Mondo Medicale. I've only seen a couple of similar releases through the years (there are probably more that I'm not aware of). I've never heard Mondo Medicale, but this here is pretty cool, though I should mention that the artwork sucks. For a rehearsal recording, this is much cleaner than I would expect. Crunchy, fast death metal with a surprising amount of melodic passages that I definitely didn't expect from a gory death metal album. It's brutal through and through but is not nearly as messy and chaotic as one would expect from the artwork (I mean, seriously, look at that thing), and it's pretty much a headbanging fest from beginning to end. This makes me want to check out the studio album, which Christian (the reviewer, not the cult) really liked back in the day with a 4.25/5 rating.
