Review

I thought this album sounded somewhat different from the usual Midnight sound (if there's really such a thing) and, as it turns out, this is basically a covers album, though it looks like killer opener "Cleveland Metal" and the title track are originals. I'm not familiar with the bands covered, but it looks like most, if not all, are punk bands. That said, Midnight has metalized the whole thing, with the result being an extremely entertaining mix of punk, '70s rock, and metal, and then you throw in some Motörhead overtones. It's easy going, rocking stuff, the kind of music that would get a party going, if not downright go out of control. Pretty much every track is catchy and there are quite a few earworms—opener "Cleveland Metal" is likely the most prone to that. No shortage of heaviness, with raw guitars and catchy solos to boot. It's savage like you'd expect from Midnight, even though as I mentioned earlier, this sounds a little different from what the band usually does. Ultimately, this is fun and addictive as hell, and I just can't stop listening to this album.
