If you haven't experienced Sacred Steel's style of heavy metal, their tenth album, Ritual Supremacy, is as good a place to start as any. They blend galloping traditional heavy metal from the NWOBHM with some early thrash influences and a bit of power metal, which when combined with the unique vocal stylings of Gerrit Mutz, results in a distinctive sound, not the easiest things to accomplish these days. There are some really entertaining tracks from the thrashy speed of "Ritual Supremacy" and "Leather, Spikes & Chains" to the thunderous, epic "Entombed Within the Iron Wall of Dis" to the marching doom of "Bedlam Eternal". Sacred Steel's blend may not be to everyone's taste, but they go at their songs hammer and tongs, so if a sound that is not run-of-the-mill and high energy performances are what you crave, Ritual Supremacy should fit the bill.
