This is the debut of Taär, a Swiss-Greek band unleashing no holds barred, vicious black metal evoking early Marduk and Watain. With the exception of "Perpetual Descent" and the title track, this is shrill and vicious, full-on fucking throttle all the way. Relentless tremolo riffing, warring drums and demonic, howling, insane growls are among the infernal qualities you can expect from Catharsis Till Dawn. The production has a recognizable sharp and icy edge to it, making this sound diabolical, seething with a hateful aura. In other words, while Taär reinvents nothing on Catharsis Till Dawn, the quality is good enough to warrant a recommendation, as it after all is a lot of fucking fun. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
