Just three years ago, I reviewed this band's debut album, The Gates, and didn't think very much of it, but this is one of those independent, highly prolific bands, so now here we are with their sixth full-length album, and I find this band very much improved. This is still highly orthodox Black Metal with a focus on sounds from classic Gorgoroth or Satyricon, but the riffs, songwriting, and production are all astronomically improved from their debut. The recording job gives this a really dirty, chaotic feel while still allowing enough clarity, and these songs all sound like something that could have been on Nemesis Divina or Those of the Unlight. Propulsive, addictive Black Metal done the old way. See below for more reviews... ↓ |
