Morbid Odyssey is a 5-song EP from Austin, Texas-based Sadistic Force, a band that plays down and dirty black/thrash. What you want is here, from hellish, raspy growls to a chunky, pyroclastic flow of molten riffs, but there is a traditional heavy metal backbone to the songwriting that really gets the head banging. Sadistic Force isn't trying to push the black/thrash envelope, but if you want your metal to evoke sweat-soaked leather, abused angular guitars and flailing limbs in the vein of Bewitcher, Midnight, Wraith, etc. Morbid Odyssey is a release you should own.
