Some cool death/grind on this debut EP from Portland, Oregon's Ripping Remains. I must admit I grabbed the promo because I liked the band name. This kicks off with a sombre, kind of apocalyptic intro with some spoken words before going into full-speed-ahead grinding, putrid death metal, the kind of stuff that gets the crowd banging their heads and a mosh pit you hope you can get out of unscathed. It's chaotic, in a good way, a brutal assault on the ears that will give you one hell of a workout (good luck listening to this and trying not to go a little nuts). If you're into the genre, you've heard similar stuff, but it's well done and that's what matters most. |
