There have been several bands named Pest, but this one was broken up for a long time, releasing their last full-length, Buried, in 2014 and then dropping off the face of the earth after their original drummer died in a car accident. This is a reunion and comeback album, with the original lineup and a new guitar player returning to crank out more grim Black Metal, and it works. The guitar tone is warmer and more compressed than you expect from Black Metal, and the riffs have a hooky style not a million miles removed from the kind of stuff Abbath comes up with. The vocals are a bit underwhelming, and the songwriting as a whole is nothing to get excited about, but good riffs and a good guitar sound can carry a band past a lot of limitations.
