The Speed of Metal is the second full-length album from Germany's Warrant since reforming in 1999 after a brief run in the '80s. These guys have brought the '80s with them on this release, which is full of pounding heavy metal from start to finish. Some of their material has thrash speed and aggressiveness that, along with the singer's powerful voice, recall early Overkill ("Falling Down"), while at other times they can delve into more melodic territory while keeping up the speed, evoking Helloween ("Demons"). Every track is a head-banging good time, whether you want to abuse your air guitar, pound your air drums into the ground or scream your head off. The Speed of Metal is a roaring, metallic beast that is for anyone that loves in-your-face heavy metal.
