Mortal Scepter have been kicking my ass for the past couple of weeks now with their second album Ethereal Dominance. Alongside other bands like Nekromantheon who can also expertly pull this shit off, they hearken back to the evil days of early Kreator, Destruction and Sodom with a solid pinch of Slayer thrown in for good measure. Aside from the cleaner production, the thrash here is predictably of the blackened variety: harsh, raspy vocals, fast and frenetic riffing, and a pummeling rhythm section that screams old school fury. There's not really much more to say, this is good old evil, raging fun. Recommended! See below for more reviews... ↓ |
