There's a handful of bands out there named Pandemic, but this is the one from Poland that recently released their sophomore album through Dying Victim Records. Before that, however, they were discovered by Awakening Records, who released their debut album some time in 2023. Speaking of history, these boys clearly know their job when it comes to thrash, because Crooked Mirror is a razor-sharp salute to the glory days of the late '80s, and it barrels out the gate with pure, unpolished energy. The riffs are fast and crunchy, the vocals snarl with conviction, the drumming is relentless, and the solos scream in your face without overstaying their welcome. I'd say more, but if you know your European thrash, then you already have a good idea of what this sounds like, only this is a step above average, simply by being better played and written. Fans of old-school thrash will find plenty to bang their heads to.
