Æternia is a relatively new band from Germany that plays a rollicking epic heavy/power metal on their debut album, Into the Golden Halls. Rife with soaring melodies and vocal lines as well as galloping, fist-pumping tempos, songs like "Five Rode Forth" and "Forged in Fire" are the kind of metal anthems that will sweep you up with their awesomeness. Slower tracks like "Trial by Fire and Water" are good as well, though, to my ears, this band excels when they play fast. Fans of Black Majesty, Judas Priest and Dio should get quite a charge out of Into the Golden Halls. A noteworthy debut from Æternia. |
