"Masquerade In Blood" would be without a doubt the heaviest Sodom release out there. While it is true that a lot of the tracks on here sound very similar, but that is precisely what makes this such a consistent and solid record. Track after track, if you love it, you will crave for more. Except for the last number, every song on here slays. Even the weakness of the last track shows consistency. Remember – Sodom cannot release a record without at least one song that sounds out of place. That is the rule. You all should know that. And the cover track on here serves that purpose…so that in itself is consistency with the rest of their catalogue! Hah!

We have Tomas Such's trademark vocals with his thick German accent, Sodom's as usual steel smoldering riffery, thundering drums and unruly political lyrics. What more could you ask for? If you have heard previous releases from this band, or have heard following releases by the band, you know the sound I am talking about, and this one is only slightly different. The production is a bit heavier on the guitars, but overall, this is the same Sodom that had given us "Agent Orange". If you want a slight variation of that sound and bask in the splendor of this band yet another time, "Masquerade In Blood" is one solution! Sodom can do the same thing a thousand times over and still kick major ass over and over again. Recommended to the fans…but if you are new to Sodom, their 80's stuff is still much better and should be higher on your priority list.
