War Music is getting quite a stable of talent when you look at their current roster of Andromeda, Naglfar and Darkane not to mention when they were known as Wrong Again Records they sported early works from Arch Enemy, Cryptopsy and In Flames. Pretty impressive to say the least and now you can add the name In Thy Dreams to that list of talent as well. This band may be better known for the fact that two of its members (Jari Kuusisto and Petri Kuusisto) formed the band Carnal Forge while Wrong Again Records were going through their growing pains of becoming War Music. This release however shows that this is not the only thing that this band should be known for. They should also be looked at in the respect of being one of the better melodic death metal bands out there. The musicianship is as good as you would expect if you are a fan of Carnal Forge (Which I am…:)). However don't mistake this as Carnal Forge part II as this is definitely more in the death metal area than it is thrash. The songs are all very well done although certain parts can be a bit repetitive at times. The biggest problem I see for this release is simply that there tons of melodic death metal bands out right now and I could easily see this getting lost in the crowd. Overall nothing groundbreaking or anything that would make someone go sell a kidney on eBay in order to purchase but a solid well done release of melodic death metal that should easily appeal to fans of the genre. Recommended. |
