Intruder were a thrash band of some small notoriety from the unlikely locale of Tennessee – normally a haven for country and western crap. Intruder have acquired something of a cult following in the decade-plus since they broke up, and this led to their reforming in 2002 to play some live shows and try to get their discs rereleased. To date, only their debut "Live To Die" has been rereleased, but their two follow-up albums, including this one, remain available for download off their website.

I have to say that, considering their reputation, this does not really impress me that much. This is good old-fashioned Thrash of the old US school, and that's pretty much it. Now if that is your thing, then this will be a real treat, but too much of this album is just too generic for me to really like it that much. There is some killer riffage on this disc, and some very good musicianship overall, but the vocals really need work, as they are of the Exodus/Vio-Lence yammery style that I can't say I have ever liked. Mix in some very pedestrian drumwork of the then-standard 4/4 pattern and some gang-shout-along vocal touches, and you have all the elements of 80's thrash I never liked.

It's not that this is bad – it isn't – but it is exemplary of all the things that made Thrash as a style stagnant by the 90's. Good riffs and ideas chained to a tired and tedious songwriting formula. If you are a rabid fan of 80's thrash then get this, as it will really be your thing, but those not already enamored of the style will find little to get excited about.
