I don't normally buy EPs, but I was just craving for some new Iron Savior material. Their first two albums are among my favorites, and, well, with band members such as Kai Hansen and Piet Sielck, you can expect top quality material. I've Been To Hell is the first single off the upcoming third album, with two news songs - I've Been To Hell and Never Say Die - and two covers: Judas Priest's Electric Eye and Krokus' Headhunter. The new songs are no let downs - Pure power metal in the Iron Savior tradition, fast, in-your-face beats that'll make you headbang from beginning to end! If you like Iron Savior's previous material, you are guaranteed to like this. The Electric Eye cover is very good as well, and the Iron Savior sound added to the song is refreshing. I was agreeably surprised at the result, considering that Piet has quite a different vocal style than Rob Halford. Would I dare say better than the original? Hmmm... I'll let you see for yourself. I had never heard Krokus' Headhunter so I can't compare with the original, but I can say that they did a good job - the song sounds great. Four songs totaling just over 17 minutes is a bit short, but that'll have to do while waiting for the full-length album. |
