I think this is the best "Classic Albums" release I've seen so far. Beside the usual "how the album came to be" stuff (which is great), this goes at great length in exploring the band's rich and tumultuous history through anecdotes recounted by band members and friends alike. Rarely (if ever?) have I found the bonus section more interesting than the main feature, but the one here fucking rules. Lots of chatter by members of the band, friends (including two members of Girlschool) and media people, a whole series of anecdotes on Lemmy and speculations on why the hell is this man still alive (and the best answer actually making sense!) There's also some short clips of Lemmy back when he was in Hawkwind, as well as some interview segments with a member of Hawkwind telling a thing or two about our beloved Lemmy. :)

The "reunited" lineup from Ace of Spades also performs the songs "(We Are) The Road Crew" and "Love Me Like A Reptile" for the first time together in some 20 years, but interestingly without the vocals. Fast Eddie Clarke also demonstrates what the original riff for "Ace of Spades" sounded like, before Lemmy suggested a little change to what would become a classic metal riff.

It's no secret that these guys are nuts and the interviews are filled with off hand jokes and anecdotes. They speak so matter-of-factly and with that British accent that I had to turn on the subtitles to make sure I didn't miss anything (native English speakers may not have this problem, however. :)) In a way this DVD, especially with the extras, is a great complement to Lemmy's biography "White Line Fever". I'm sure they could have filled another DVD with more stories and I'd still be asking for more. There's no way I can describe this excellent DVD in words - you gotta see it for yourselves. Go buy it now.
